Angela C. “Angie” Plourde, a longtime area resident, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at the age of 92.  She was born in Chieti, Italy on November 9, 1930, the daughter of Dominick and Anna (DeStefano) Forlani.  Angie immigrated with her family to the United States when she was eight years old, settling in New York City.

For many years, Angie did childcare in her home, which was like a small farm.  She loved animals and had pigs, guinea hens, rabbits and chickens among others.  She was a life member Post 5491 VFW Auxiliary in Mahopac.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann Marie Glynn-Vicario and her husband, Michael of Mahopac; her son, John Miceli of Port Charlotte, Florida; 5 grandchildren and her great grandson.  She was married to Aderville “Frenchy” Plourde who passed away in 2000.  Her sister, Jenny Schwartz predeceased her as well.

Visiting will be held on Monday, March 13 from 4-8 pm at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 14 at 10 am at St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac with interment to follow at Ballard-Barrett Cemetery, Mahopac Falls, NY.
