Ann A. Cavallo passed away peacefully on Friday, August 2, 2019 at the age of 84. She was born in the Bronx on August 15, 1934, the daughter of Edward and Rose Sordellini.
Ann retired from Mahopac National Bank in 1994 after a long and distinguished career with the bank. She was a parishioner of St. James the Apostle Church in Carmel and before moving to Kent Lakes from Mahopac 7 years ago, she was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac. While at St. John’s, she used her banking skills to help count the Sunday collections and prepare the deposits used to run the church.
Ann was a life member of the Italian American Club in Mahopac. Over the course of more than 30 years, she volunteered at Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel, amassing over 7800 hours of service to the hospital and its patients.
On October 4, 1958 she married James M. Cavallo at Santa Maria Church in the Bronx. James passed away on May 10, 2012. She is survived by her sons, Edward of Hopkinton, MA, Gerard (Maryann) of Edmond, OK, Raymond (Victoria) of Hopewell Junction, NY and Robert (Chris) of San Ramon, CA; her daughters, Marieann Greenwood (Peter) of Midlothian VA and Roseann Napadano of Lehigh Acres, FL as well as 16 grandchildren.
Visiting will be held on Wednesday, August 7 from 4-8 pm at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 8 at 10 am at St. James the Apostle Church in Carmel. Following private cremation services, her cremains will be interred at Union Valley Cemetery in Mahopac.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Ann may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
