Anthony Fabiano, age 80, of Yorktown Heights and formerly of Mahopac and the Bronx, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 31, 2012. Tony was born in New York, NY on November 21, 1931, son of the late Carmine and Angelina (Palumbo) Fabiano.Tony served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and worked as a mason foreman for the NYC Transit Authority for 25 years. Tony is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Marie (McCrink) Fabiano. He is also survived by his four children, Anthony and his wife Rose of Mahopac, Ann Furey and her husband Ed of Tolland, CT, Eileen Muniz of Mohegan Lake, and Marie Miodonka and her husband Jon of Sandy Hook, CT. He was affectionately called Poppy by his ten grandchildren, Anthony, Caroline, Melanie, Connor, Julie, Nicholas, Gianna, Vincent, Marz and Adriana. He is also survived by his brother, Rev. Philip Fabiano of Miami FL, and his sister Lucy Enright of Queens, NY. He was predeceased by his sisters Mary Vandervoort and Dolores Pantaleo and by his brother Carmine Fabiano. He also leaves behind several brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Tony was an avid Yankee fan his whole life. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially at the beach in Maine and at the Jersey Shore. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.Visiting will be held at the Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 3rd from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 4th at 10 AM at St. John The Evangelist Church in Mahopac.
