Asunta “Sue” Pirone of Mahopac, NY and formerly of New Rochelle, NY passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at the age of 99.  She was born in Mt. Vernon, NY on August 13, 1921, the daughter of Damiano and Santa (Fusaro) Petrone.

Sue retired from Commercial Decal Co. in Mt. Vernon where she worked as a product inspector.

Sue loved spending time with her family.  She enjoyed watching game shows on TV and the soap “All My Children” as well as playing cards and going to casinos, coloring and cooking.

In 1945 she married Nicola Pirone who predeceases her.  She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Sohr and her husband, Fred of Mahopac and Lynette Perino and her husband, Charles of Cold Spring, NY; her brother, William Petrone of Connecticut; many nieces, nephews and cousins; her 5 beloved grandchildren, Cherilyn, John, Michael, Nicholas and Christopher and her 9 beloved great grandchildren, Sofia, James, Ryan, Ava, Jake, Mia, Juliet, Benji and Harper, all of whom she loved more than anything else.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 9 at 10 am at St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac with entombment to follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Sue may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.  www.stjude.org
