Claudia enjoyed hiking, motorcycle rides, boating and shopping with her daughters. She was happiest at the beach and looked forward to trips to Cape Cod with her family each year.

In May of 1990 she married Alfonso DiFusco on the beach in Jamaica. Claudia and Alfonso renewed their vows several years later at a Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac. Family was the most important part of Claudia’s life and she will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife and mom.

In addition to Alfonso, she is survived by her daughters, Alexandra, Victoria and Gabrielle and her sisters, Debbie Russo (Greg), Joan Friedman (Fred) and Michele Abate (John). She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, John Mangi.

Visiting will be held on Monday, January 4, 2021 from 1-3 and 6-8 pm at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 5 at 1 pm at St. John the Evangelist Church with interment to follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Putnam Valley, NY.

Claudia’s family requests that visitors bring along any pictures of Claudia that you would like to share with them at the visitation.

Tom and I are so sorry for your loss. She was much loved by her family and will be deeply missed.

All of my memories of Claudia revolve around our girls. But most recently while I was working at Home Goods there was never a week that I did not see her, buying something for one of the girls. There was one time she was buying a HUGE mirror for Ali's city apartment we had a hell of a time getting it out of the store. Laughing until I had an asthma attack. Fun little memories like that sneak up and get you out of no where. Claudia I did not see you much but when I did it we were always laughing. Rest easy sweet Claudia, you will be remembered often with smiles and laughter.

I’m so sorry to hear of Claudia’s passing, she was a beautiful woman inside and out and I’ll always remember the stories she told about her daughters and the obvious love she had for them. I was fortunate to have worked with her personally as her driver one year and saw first hand the commitment and kindness she had for the students on board our bus.
