Denise Beckel passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at the age of 51.  She was born in the Bronx on July 24, 1969, the daughter of Theresa McBride and Richard Henderson.

Denise was a longtime resident of Putnam Valley, NY and was currently living in Leicester, NC along with her husband, Eric, as they awaited the construction of their new retirement home in North Carolina.

Denise was a retired registered nurse and worked for many years at Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt Manor, NY.  She was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Shrub Oak, NY.  Denise enjoyed hiking and walking and visiting places with waterfalls.

On June 6, 1997 she married Eric Beckel at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. In addition to Eric,  she is survived by her daughter, Taylor of Baltimore, MD and her son, Ryan of Binghamton, NY; her mother and step-father, Theresa and Ronald McConnachie of Mahopac, NY; her brother, Richard Henderson and his wife, Diana of Chapin, SC and her beloved niece, Adelina.

Visiting will be held on Tuesday, March 30 from 2-7 pm at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 31 at 10 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Shrub Oak with interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Greenwich, CT.
