Ida F. Salvestrini passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 7, 2021, at the age of 103. She was the wife of the late Leo Salvestrini.

Ida was born in 1917 and was a life long resident of Mahopac, NY. She was the daughter of Enrico and Letizia Veschi. Ida worked for many years with her sister Anne at Anne’s Beauty Salon. It was a popular salon where clients felt welcomed and everyone enjoyed socializing together.

Family is the word that best describes Ida’s character. She was known to all who loved her as a devoted mother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt and friend. Her kindness, generosity, smile, wit, delicious Italian cooking and her love for family and everyone she met, will always be remembered. She was devoted to raising her children with a strong faith in all areas of their lives. She will be dearly missed by her children Norma Corozine (Vince), David Salvestrini (Maureen) and John Salvestrini (Pamela). She was a loving and proud grandmother to 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.

Ida loved her brother and sisters. She is survived by her sister Rita Tyndall. She was predeceased by her sisters Anne Miozzi, Mary Defrancesco, Louise Lotrecchiano and her brother Gino Veschi.

A celebration of Ida’s life will be held at a later date.
