Dan Berman left a message on August 11, 2021:
Dear Claudia and family, As result of his work with the Teacher's Union, the Bedford teachers have enjoyed security and financial stability. Another legacy is a respect for academic excellence that he symbolized in his teaching of the AP course and in managing the English Department. As Social Studies Coordinator, I often saw education from a different perspective. So much so that John once said to me that even though we were both Ukrainian, he was "the down to earth peasant" while I was the "Cossack establishing empires". I appreciated his wit, his scholarship and loyalty to principles that benefitted us all. I am truly sorry for your loss. Sincerely, Dan Berman
