Louis DeGeorge was a great mentor to me while I was at Georgia Pacific. He was so supportive and a great coach. I credit him with so much of my development and. It’s rare when you meet someone who is just simply a great human being with no pretenses. I was sorry to hear about him. I send my deepest condolences to his family and friends. I'll miss his infectious smile.

I am incredibly sad to hear of Louie’s passing. I have known and worked with Louie for about the last 25 years and considered him a friend much more than a co-worker. He mentored so many in his years here that his influence will continue for many, many years. Louie gave me a piece of advice that we have laughed about many times over the last 16 years at every milestone, and I have shared with many others over the years – when my first daughter was born, he told me to cherish every moment because in the blink of an eye I would be putting her on the school bus for kindergarten, and in another blink of the eye would be seeing her off to middle school and high school and a first date, then college and so on and would wonder where the time went and not be able to get that time back. Really sage advice from my friend that I have tried to take to heart when life gets hectic and busy. Thank you - my friend - I will miss you – thoughts and prayers to the family.

Training Lou once or twice a week absolutely made my day. I would often be taken aback by how friendly and kind he was during our 30 minutes sessions. I looked forward to seeing him and talking about our week together and I will miss this very much. My condolences go out to those who were closer to him than I.
