Luigi Cefaloni of Mahopac, NY passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Ripi, Frosinone, Italy on April 25, 1949, the son of Guerrino and Iolanda (Recine) Cefaloni.
Luigi grew up in Italy, where he attended technical college for electronics. He emigrated to the United States in 1966, settling in the Bronx, NY before moving to Mahopac in 1980.
Luigi worked as a technician with Verizon in White Plains, NY for many years. Following his retirement from Verizon, he embarked on a career as a real estate agent, working for Century 21 and later, Keller Williams. He was an active parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac. Luigi was a longtime member and past president of the Italian-American Club in Mahopac where he served on many committees and was active in many of its functions.
In his spare time, Luigi loved to garden, cook and play bocce.
On August 24, 1980 he married Eleanor A. “Bee” Black at St. John’s Church in the Bronx. In addition to Bee, he is survived by his daughter Cristina and her fiancé Matías of Brooklyn, NY; his stepson, Patrick O’Connor of South Hampton, NY; his brothers, Giulio and wife, Linda of Mahopac and Antonio and wife, Liliana of Harrison, NY; his sister, Maria Bernardi and her husband, Franco of Yonkers, NY and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting will be held on Friday, June 17 from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 18 at 11:30 am at St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac with entombment to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery’s Rosewood Mausoleum.
