Olivia Ryan MacDougall, aged 29, died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022.
While her family and friends were shocked by her death, they are thankful for her life. Olivia and the love of her life, Mark Sottile had recently purchased their first home together after being involved since college days. They met at SUNY Plattsburgh and were planning a life together, along with their newly adopted guinea pigs.
Olivia is survived by her guardians, Doreen and Billy McVey (aunt and uncle); her cousin (and “brother”), James McVey; her Uncles Jack (Mary) and Matt (Rena) Martin; her Aunt Patti (Karen) Martin; Aunt Cathy Oliver, Aunt Lois Hughes, Uncles Donald and Thomas MacDougall; her half-sister Kayla, half-brothers John and David; and her many cousins. She is survived by boyfriend Mark Sottile; Mark’s parents, Doreen and Anthony Sottile; sister, Kristen Podell (Shawn); brother Michael Sottile as well as numerous cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by her mother Jo-Anne Martin MacDougall.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022 from 10 am – 1 pm at Joseph Smith Funeral Home in Mahopac, NY where a Prayer Service will be held at 1 pm. Private cremation services will follow.
