I worked with Pat for many years when he was the NYSUT Rep for the Rye Teachers Association. He was a smart, dedicated, professional who helped guide us through some difficult times. He was always there when we needed him and he went out of his way to help us. On behalf of all the members of the Rye Teachers Association I send our most sincere condolences. Rest in peace, Pat. Our sincere condolences to his family. Your dad was our family too..not just a teacher but as a true friend. He joined our class of 1967 for our 50th reunion at Rye Neck High School. He cared for his students then and he did later. A truly great educator and human being. May he forever RIP and he will always be a part of the Class of '67

Florence McCue left a message on March 7, 2020:
For the past few years I have enjoyed seeing the NYSUT retired staff newsletter partly because Pat Leonetti was always mentioned as the treasurer. Just seeing his name brought back fond memories of the “Good Old days” when, as a Yonkers building rep living in Elmsford, I was always welcomed into the Elmsford regional office where the giants, the original FIELD REPS, would always share their knowledge and expertise as they shared their days and taught me how grievances, negotiations, and mediations took place. I also learned how welfare funds were built from the ground up in various locals. Ken, Pat, Jack and the other feisty, shrewd, brilliant, problem solving mentors taught me how to navigate any problem that arose. Even after Ken and Jack had left the regional office, Pat would always take my calls if complicated problem required his smooth, understanding advice. Pat’s passing symbolizes the end of an era, Yet, what he built along with the other field reps has taught generation upon generation of union activists. We owe him such a huge debt of gratitude. Thank you, Pat, and may flights of angels bring you to your rest. -Florence McCue

Dear Uncle Pabby, Thank you for all you have given me in my life. Your love and support, your guidance and wisdom and especially a loving Aunt Arden, Trevor and his family, and my three baby cousins who I love like siblings. You will be missed. Always, Elizabeth ( you are the only one who calls me that)
