Salvatore D'Agostino, of Mahopac, NY passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2012. He was 76. He was born on August 7, 1935 in Italy, the son of Giuseppe and Giovannina(Zeolla) D'Agostino. On August 3, 1957 he married his loving wife Rosaria Polcini in Italy before moving to the United States to start their life together and raise a family. He worked in New York City as a brick layer in the mason's union. He enjoyed playing bocce and hunting, but his family was the most important part of his life. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. They always brought a smile to his face. He is survived by his son Joseph D'Agostino and his wife Suzanne of Wappingers Falls; his daughter Jeanette Testa, her husband Warren and their children Julia, Christina, and Anthony of LaGrangeville; his daughter Carmela Spano, her husband Richard and their children Michael and Olivia of Mahopac; his brother George and his wife Lily of Mahopac; his brother Angelo and his wife Concettina of Italy; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Maria Grazia Polcini.Visiting will be held at the Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 21st from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 22nd at 10AM at St. John The Evangelist Church (225 East Lake Blvd) in Mahopac with entombment to follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Putnam Valley, NY.
