Tommaso E. Rocca

Tommaso E. Rocca, a 38 year resident of Carmel, NY passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at the age of 66.  Tommy was born in Pontecorvo, Italy on December 24th, 1956, the son of Giovanni and Assunta (Mollicone) Rocca.

Tommy started a new life by coming to New York in the late 1970’s.  At first, he worked various jobs including driving delivery trucks . Tommy eventually landed and held the position of Field Planner for NYSEG in Brewster, NY, retiring in 2016.  Tommy enjoyed taking long bike rides, cooking, and driving fast cars.

Tommy met Maria at a dance and soon they both fell in love.  On September 6, 1981 he married Maria Mascaro at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Yonkers.   Not only was Tommy  a beloved husband of Maria (Mascaro) Rocca, he was also a loving father to Nicole (Mike), Christina (Joseph), and Daniela (John). Tommy was also adored by his four grandchildren Gabriela, Giulia, Johnny, and Maria.  In addition, he is survived by his brothers, Walter, Oscar and Lucio and his sister, Teresa Rocca.

Tommy will always be remembered as a generous man who showed his love through endless acts of kindness.  His sense of humor and one liners carried him and his family through the tough times.  Tommy will be missed tremendously by friends and family.  His most favorite people called him “Papa”.

Visiting will be held on Friday, March 10 from 5-8 pm at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home.   A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 11 at 10 am at St. John the Evangelist Church, Mahopac with entombment to follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Putnam Valley, NY.
